What is Safegard® PLUS FR Debris Netting?
Safegard® PLUS FR Debris Netting is a heavy-duty safety net made from UV-stabilised polyethylene monofilament mesh with added fire-retardant additives that help slow the spread of fire, making it suitable for fire-regulated construction zones.
This safety netting is designed to catch falling materials and debris, including workers themselves, and performs well in windy conditions. It’s suitable for mid-term to long-term projects.
KEY FEATURES
- Material: The netting uses high-density polyethylene, a tough plastic that is strong enough to contain debris and withstand site wear.
- Fire-retardant: Meets necessary performance criteria for fire-retardant use to limit hazards on construction sites.
- Airflow: Air moves freely through the small holes, which helps lower wind load on the scaffold while maintaining a barrier against dust and debris.
- UV-stabilised: Treated for UV protection to prevent damage from sunlight and maintain performance over time.
- Lightweight: Easy to handle and put up but tough enough to catch falling materials, including rubble, materials, or even a person if needed.
Good for:
- Construction sites with high winds
- Construction sites with falling debris
- Blocking off areas
- Increased brand awareness and retention on site
BENEFITS
- Debris control: Safegard® PLUS FR Debris Netting keeps debris contained within the scaffold during work at height to reduce risks on and around the site.
- Flame protection: The added fire-retardant additives of PLUS debris netting variant support fire safety measures by managing fire risks in the event of an accident.
- Workers and public safety: While debris is contained within the scaffold, the PLUS FR variant also helps prevent it from reaching walkways, roads, or work areas below, so there’s a lower chance of injury to workers and pedestrians.
- Quick to install: The lightweight build of PLUS FR Debris Netting makes it easier to carry, position, and fix to scaffolding—and keeps setup and removal time to a minimum.

FAQ
Can fire-retardant debris netting stop a fire?
No, it doesn’t stop the fire completely, but it helps control its spread by limiting how fast flames can move across the netting.
What’s the difference between FR debris netting and TS62-certified FR debris netting?
Both are fire-retardant, but TS62-certified netting has been tested to meet a recognised fire safety standard for added assurance on regulated sites.
Is FR debris netting less effective than TS62-certified FR debris netting?
No, it still helps slow the spread of fire, but only TS62-certified netting has been independently tested, which may be required on certain worksites or projects.
