SP Group Celebrates 35 Years in Scaffold and Temporary Protection Industry
SP Group Global Ltd

SP Group, a temporary protection supplier across the UK and Ireland, enters its three decade and a half year in business on 1 October 2025. What started in the 1990s has grown into a supplier recognised for high standards and dependable service today.

From Solar Protect to SP Group

SP Group began operations in October 1990 under the name Solar Protect, founded by Richard Munster. The company started by supplying glass and window protection films to commercial spaces such as airports and shopping centres.

In its early years, the team worked hard to promote the products through direct outreach and post distribution. As demand increased, the business acquired its first office and warehouse.

From those beginnings, SP Group expanded in the 2000s to eight trusted brands, including Safegard® for scaffold protection and Floorgard® for temporary floor protection.

Today, the company operates from five active sites: its head office in Antrim (NI), alongside facilities in London (UK), Dublin (ROI), and Germany (DE). These locations allow it to supply customers both nationwide and across Europe.

A Toast to Growth and Success

SP Group’s 35th anniversary is an achievement built on the dedication of its people, who have always kept efficiency and safety at the core of their work.

The company remains committed to protecting what matters fast, with plans to strengthen its presence in England and expand support for customers across the UK and Europe.

This anniversary is a moment to look back and a reminder of SP Group’s long-term goal to maintain the quality and standards that customers rely on in the industry.

#ConstructionProtectionWeek

As part of its 35th anniversary, SP Group is introducing #ConstructionProtectionWeek. It will run from 1 to 8 October and is set around temporary protection in everyday construction work.

The initiative encourages the industry to show temporary protection matters. This includes scaffold protection, floor protection, surface protection, PPE, and more. It’s also an opportunity to acknowledge the effort of organisations who prioritise safe working conditions in their work environments.

Everyone can join the conversation on social media by posting photos, stories, and experiences with the hashtag #ConstructionProtectionWeek

Teams, customers, and partners are appreciated for being part of SP Group’s journey. The company looks forward to continued growth and success in the years ahead!
